Overview of the Position:

The Instructional Designer is responsible for the design, development, management, and support of online courses within the University. The Instructional Designer will assist with the technical and programmatic developments of assigned projects and applications as well as helps with planning and coordinating materials with course instructor(s), subject matter experts and school deans.

Required Attendance at University/Department Events:

· Opening of Semester Meetings (Fall, Winter, Spring)

· Holiday Party (December)

· President’s and Deans’ List Awards (Virtual/In-person)

· Departmental Meetings (at least once per semester)

· Commencement (June)

· Select virtual student activities and streaming athletic events

Core Responsibilities:

· Collaborates with School Deans and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to identify, research and develop course content

· Design and develop online courses to meet the national standards in distance learning established by Quality Matters (QM) and Blackboard Exemplary Course Design

· Incorporates multiple sources of feedback into refinement of course content

· Ensures e-learning course content is informative, clear, and grammatically correct

· Imports course content and support materials to Learning Management System

· Assists in creating and assembling training modules for student orientations, faculty orientations, and other training initiatives.

Skills and Attributes:

· Microsoft Office 365

· Adult learning theory

· Instructional systems design and delivery methods

· Integration of soft skills with course content

· Project management skills

Qualifications:

The position requires a graduate degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Educational Technology, or related field.

A minimum of three years of experience in instructional design, with a proven ability to develop original and innovative e-learning content is also necessary.

The instructional designer must also be able to provide academic and educational technology expertise in online learning.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
