Full job description

Technology works as a strategic partner with Morgan Stanley business units and the world's leading technology companies to redefine how we do business in ever more global, complex, and dynamic financial markets. Morgan Stanley's sizeable investment in technology results in quantitative trading systems, cutting-edge modeling and simulation software, comprehensive risk and security systems, and robust client-relationship capabilities, plus the worldwide infrastructure that forms the backbone of these systems and tools. Our insights, our applications and infrastructure give a competitive edge to clients' businesses—and to our own.

This role will be responsible for designing and executing a leadership development framework that helps the Tech & Ops organization navigate the intersection of technical evolution and human-centric management. This role focuses on leadership capability, workforce readiness, employee experience, and talent development strategies that enable successful adoption of automation and emerging technologies. The role partners closely with HR and business leaders to strengthen leadership pipelines, enhance employee engagement and build organizational resilience.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership Development & Transformation

  • Design and execute a multi-level leadership development framework focused on leading through change and managing increasingly technology-enabled workforces.

  • Equip leaders with the skills to redeploy and develop talent as automation transforms traditional roles and responsibilities.

  • Develop targeted learning experiences for emerging leaders and high-potential talent across the Tech & Ops organization.

  • Establish leadership practices that foster adaptability, continuous learning, and innovation.

Employee Experience

  • Develop strategies and programs that strengthen employee engagement and support organizational effectiveness during periods of transformation.

  • Leverage employee feedback, workforce insights, and engagement data to identify opportunities to improve the employee experience.

  • Design and oversee mentoring, coaching, and knowledge-sharing programs that facilitate transfer of expertise across generations of talent.

  • Partner with business leaders to promote a culture of growth, wellbeing, and continuous development.

Talent Strategy & HR Partnership

  • Partner with HR and business leaders to align leadership development programs with promotion, career progression, and talent management frameworks.

  • Contribute to succession planning discussions by helping identify critical capabilities, leadership readiness, and development priorities within Tech & Ops.

  • Collaborate with HR on workforce wellbeing initiatives aimed at supporting resilience and reducing burnout during periods of organizational change.

  • Provide thought leadership and workforce insights to support long-term talent planning and organizational transformation efforts.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 10+ years in Talent Development, Organizational Development (OD), or HR Leadership, preferably within Financial Services or a high-growth Tech environment.

  • Workforce Transformation Expertise: Deep understanding of how automation, AI, and evolving technologies impact workforce dynamics, leadership effectiveness, and employee engagement. Experience leading initiatives focused on upskilling, reskilling, and organizational adaption.

  • Analytical Mindset: Demonstrated ability to establish metrics and measure the effectiveness of leadership development, engagement, and workforce transformation initiatives.
