We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Controller/ Senior Accounting professional to lead our financial management. This pivotal role combines overseeing all accounting operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, fostering a positive workplace culture, and driving organizational growth. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in financial concepts including budgeting, Job costing, and financial analysis. This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape financial integrity and the long term goals within a mission-driven organization committed to excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle accounting processes including general ledger accounting, account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing.
  • In coordination with external CPA, ensure compliance with tax-basis accounting, federal and state tax regulations and payroll/wage-hour law.
  • Oversee financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and cash management to support strategic decision-making.
  • Work closely with Purchasing and Operations teams to ensure accurate project costing.
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including regulatory reporting and internal financial statements.
  • Maintain robust internal controls and perform regular audits to ensure integrity of financial data.
  • Utilize accounting software like Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, Microsoft Power Platform Microsoft Office/Excel, Gathr to streamline financial operations and ensure data accuracy.
  • Supervise, mentor, and coordinate a small team.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in accounting roles with expertise in corporate accounting, governmental accounting, non-profit accounting, or public accounting environments.
  • Strong knowledge of financial concepts including double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, account analysis, and account reconciliation.
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards such as GAAP, IFRS, SOX compliance requirements, and relevant financial regulations.
  • Proficiency in financial report writing is essential.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage cash flow, budgeting processes, and financial forecasting effectively.
