Location: 1815 Flower St. Glendale, CA 91201

Job Type: Full-Time, 4:00pm-3:00am, Night Shift

SMP Engineering s a leader in [industry type – e.g., precision manufacturing, aerospace components, custom machining, etc.], known for our commitment to quality, innovation, and employee development. We are currently seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our team and contribute to our growing operations.

Job Summary:

As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for setting up, some programming, and operating CNC machines to produce high-quality parts and components. You’ll work with blueprints, technical drawings, and precision measuring instruments to ensure parts meet exact specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate CNC machines (e.g., lathes preferably, grinders).
  • Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
  • Perform quality checks using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other measuring tools.
  • Adjust machine settings to optimize performance and ensure precision.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve basic mechanical or programming issues.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to meet production goals.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical/trade school preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a CNC Machinist.
  • Proficiency with G-code, M-code, and understanding of CNC programming (e.g., Fanuc, Nakamura or similar).
  • Strong understanding of machining techniques and material properties.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
