Job Summary

NOTE: We are very flexible in negotiating salary based on work experience and familiarity with real estate law matters.

We are hiring! We are a well-established, thriving real estate law firm seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Real Estate Paralegal / Legal Assistant with excellent communication skills to join our team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive support to facilitate successful closings for our clients, while collaborating with a vast array of real estate professionals, including attorneys, lenders, brokers, property managers, and title officers, among many others.

We are looking for someone with exceptional organizational skills, problem-solving abilities, and an interest in working in a fast-paced environment. A positive attitude and genuine interest in helping people in their property buying and/or selling journey is a must.

Duties

  • Assist with drafting, reviewing, and managing legal documents related to real estate transactions.
  • Interact heavily with clients and colleagues.
  • Manage matters using Smokeball, our practice management software.
  • Maintain calendars to ensure the meeting of contingency deadlines and schedule closings.
  • Review and analyze title commitments/searches.
  • Coordinate title clearance efforts, including obtaining mortgage and lien payoffs, compliance with Home Owner Associations (HOAs) as well as municipal offices to allow for transfers to take place.
  • Contribute in weekly staff meetings to discuss current matters and improvement of our processes.
  • Conduct signing appointments with clients in furtherance of closing efforts.

Experience

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in a law office setting supporting real estate transactions is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with estate planning is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Smokeball is a big plus.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
